Library Ministry

The library is to provide the members of our church and the community with books and videos that honor Jesus Christ and whose message is founded on biblical principles. Our library is open Sunday Mornings from 8:30 to 10 am. (the library closes during the 10:15 Worship service hour and re-opens after the service for about 30 minutes). To find the library take the elevator, or the stairs on the NE side of the court yard to the second floor Room 200, or look for the books in the window. 

There is no fee to check out books and videos from our library. We only require that you give us up-to-date information regarding your address, phone number, and church affiliation. Books can be checked out for a two-week period, and videos for one week. We do have limits on the quantity that can be checked out each visit.

 

Biblical Reference Books

 We have commentaries, Bibles, dictionaries, Bible handbooks, books on theology, etc. These are great if you’re in a growth group, Bible study or for personal study. Some of these familiar authors are: Harry Ironside, Gaebelein, John MacArthur, Erdman, J. Vernon McGee and many others.

Christian Living

This section has books dealing with prayer, growing in Christ, family living, finances, marriage, raising godly children and much more. Some of the popular authors are: John MacArthur, Charles Colson, Charles Stanley, Charles Swindoll, Billy Graham, Tim LaHaye, James Dobson, Phillip Yancey, Gary Smalley, Max Lucado, Josh McDowell, and many others.
We also have biographies, books on missions, creation/evolution and on cults.

Fiction

 This is a very popular section of the library. We have the latest and most popular authors. We have many stand alone fiction books as well as great series sets. We have everything from Christian romance, historical fiction, adventure, mystery, contemporary, western to Biblical fiction. Some of these authors are: Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins, Bidie Thoene, Frank Peretti, Lori Wick, Gilbert Morris, Janet Oke, Francine Rivers, Jan Karon and more.

Children’s Books

 Our Children’s library of about 2500 books has something for all ages. We have

  • Easy books for ages 2-7
  • Junior books for the 8-12 year olds
  • Youth books for the young teens

We try to have books that the children will enjoy reading and will encourage them to keep on reading. We have many of the popular authors that children and young people enjoy. We have many of the classic books for children so that they will get a broad scope of all types of books.

Video Library

 There is a wide selection of Christian videos for adults in a wide range of topics that include: Creation Series, travel series to the Holy Land, Series on Cults, The Visual Bible (Matthew and Acts), Missionaries, “That the World May Know”, and more.

In our children’s video selection, we have stories that will teach children Christian character and behavior as well as Bible characters, Moody science, McGee and Me Series, the Veggie Tales series and many more. We have videos that introduce children to Christian heroes and leaders of our country. We try to present videos that have a sound Biblical basis or just good family values.

 

These videos can be checked for one week at no cost. We allow three adult and three children’s videos per family per visit.
