What we Believe

Transforming lives and communities through grace-based relationships rooted in Jesus.

Our Beliefs

Carlsbad Community Church is a member of the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference (www.ccccusa.com). We are a church that reaches out to our local community and to the whole world with the Gospel, "The Good News!" of Christ.

Our buildings and our meetings are in Carlsbad, California, but through our prayers, our sharing, and sending, we literally have an impact on every continent of the world. Values are the pillars that support our vision and mission. These are unchanging beliefs and principles that guide our decisions and actions.

Statement of faith

  • We believe the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, to be the only inspired, inerrant, infallible, authoritative Word of God written.

  • We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

  • We believe in the deity of Christ, in His Virgin Birth, in His sinless life, in his miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

  • We believe that for salvation of lost and sinful man regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by Whose indwelling power and fullness the Christian is enabled to live a godly life in this present, evil world.

  • We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life; and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

  • We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in Christ.

  • We believe marriage is ordained by God. The church defines “marriage” as the exclusive covenantal union of one man and one woman in which such union is a lifetime commitment. A civil government’s sanction of a union will be recognized as a legitimate marriage by the church only to the extent that it is consistent with the definition of “marriage” found in these Articles.

  • We believe legitimate sexual relations are exercised solely within marriage. Hence, sexual activities outside of marriage (referred to in the New Testament as “porneia”) including but not limited to, adultery, premarital sex, homosexuality, and pedophilia are inconsistent with the teachings of the Bible and the Church. Further, lascivious conduct, transgender behavior, and the creation and/or distribution and/or viewing of pornography, are incompatible with the biblical witness.
